If you write without mistakes, or your book is already proofread by a professional, check "None". In this case Alexandria Library will not charge for this item and will no have responsibility for errors that appear in the book because they were in the original.

If you write quite well but want to remove any over sighted typos or spelling mistakes, check the second box "Typos & misspellings." This proofreading cost $0.01 per word.

If you can convey your ideas quite well in a written way, but your grammar is not a polished one, then we recommend you check the third box "Typos, misspells & grammar." This level of proofreading cost $0.025 per word.

If you have something to say but you can not write well because lack of preparation or practice, the best way you can guarantee your book will be well written is checking the fourth box "Substantive (complete editing)." This cost $0.05 per word and our proofreaders will pay attention also to the general structure, eliminating ambiguities and redundancies, and rewriting obscure fragments.

In case you already have the design or somebody can do it for you, there will be no charge. Check the box "No" and send the design in a PDF file with the following requisites:

Make your cover slightly larger than the book itself, to account for bleed (when the printing goes all the way to the edge). Since it's a wrap-around cover, it needs to be TWICE the width of the finished book, plus the spine. To determine the width of your spine, divide Number of Pages (not SHEETS, but PAGES) by 440. For example, if your book was 120 pages, the spine would be 120 / 440 = 0.27 inches.

So for a 5.375 x 8.375 book that is 120 pages long, the cover should be
8.375 tall, and 11.04 wide (5.375 front + 5.375 back + .27 spine = 11.02).

So for a 8.375 x 10.875 book that is 200 pages long, the cover should be
10.875 tall, and 17.23 wide (8.375 front + 8.375 back + .45 spine = 17.20).

Of course, if your artwork is going to BLEED (go all the way to the edge),
you'll need to have it extend 1/8" BEYOND the edges on top, bottom and side.

Include your title and author name on the spine so when your book is on a bookshelf, the title and author name read from top to bottom.

The images resolution have to be no lower than 300 dpi for color and grayscale images (photos), and no lower than 600 dpi for monochrome images (line art). You have to include all fonts.

If you do not need the ISBN number for any reason, check the button "No" and there will be no charge for this item.

Librarians all over the world use this unique identifier in the process of cataloging most books which have been published in the United States.

There is no relationship between this number and Copyright registration.

If you check "Yes" the web page will be ready when you receive the book.
The design and setting will cost $100.00 and includes a year of hosting in our server. The hosting cost of future years will be $25.00 a year.

In the autopublishing business we do not recommend runs of more than 2000 copies.

5.5" x 8.5" (13.97 x 21.59 cm) suitable for small books, i.e.poetry or short novels.

6" x 9" (15.24 x 22.86 cm) suitable for novels from medium to large, about 250 pages or more.

8.5" x 11" (21.59 x 27.94 cm) suitable for workbooks, scientific books, etc.

Check the appropriate bottom.

If you want any other size we can do it. But we have to charge for the next standard size where you book fits. For example (see the figure), if you want a 5" x 7" book we have to print it in a 5.5" x 8.5" sheet of paper and then cut it off. So, you will  be charged as if were a 5.5" x 8.5" book.

Color pages are many more times expensive than black and white pages.

If you know exactly the number of pages, for example for a children book with a know number of  illustration with text, one per page, then check the "I know the number of pages" and write that number in the box "Number of Words pr Pages."

When you edit and print your book with Alexandria Library we send a FREE eBook of your book for you to distribute freely through E-mail or put it in some place in the Web to download it freely of for a price.

If you have a Web page of your book within Alexandria Library we can put your eBook in the Web page of your book for downloading it after paying a cost by credit card. You have to have an account with PayPal to do this.

Even if you don't want to print (in paper) your book you can have an eBook. For get an estimate, let the number "100"  in the box Book copies and then disregard the Printing cost in the Final Cost of Your Book. The eBook only cost you the Edting price plus $50.00.

Audio books may be housed in cassettes, CDs or in computer files, and can be heard in cassette players, CD players, computers or in mp3 players. If the audio book has been placed in a computer file, and if you do not wish to sell its content, then it can be readily sent via email or made available to download from your web page. If you wish to sell it, then it can also be offered on your web page for download after payment to a credit card or through web-based payment companies such as PayPal.
